Flatpack
Studio, Prototype A
Statement
Flat pack studio, Prototype A works to translate an architectural
structure from a context of literal use to that of theoretical reflection
and commentary on the status of the artist (as temporary community
provider, ‘enhancer’, nomad etc.) They are temporary
structures ‘lean to’s” open on one or two sides
to the institution or site they inhabit, a temporary addition providing
a space to focus and come up with answers and solutions but with
a blue sky photograph rather than a window (Blue sky thinking being
corporate speak for ‘outside the box’ solution envisaging).
his
work is also available to the audience to use, reflecting a societal
platitude that we are all creative and need our own space to ‘express
ourselves’.
